Galion TS P75 Tube Pre-Amplifier

When we set out to design an affordable amplifier for Galion last year, our mission was clear: to create something so extraordinary it would leave the world in awe. And then, the TS A75 burst onto the scene—surprising everyone, racking up awards, and quickly establishing itself as a true giant killer in the HiFi world.
But here’s the catch: to truly unleash the TS A75’s full potential, it needs a top-notch preamp. After months of rigorous testing, we found that the TS A75 truly shines when paired with preamps priced above $4,000. That got us thinking—could we build an affordable preamp that could keep up with the TS A75?
So, Galion teamed up once again with Doge Audio to craft a preamp that will impress just as much as the TS A75 did. Our goal? To once again wow the HIFI world—without breaking the bank.

Holographic Sound Stage

One of the defining differences between entry-level HiFi gear and true high-end performance is the ability to deliver a holographic, three-dimensional soundstage. To capture that elusive, airy, and immersive sound at a price that won’t empty your wallet, we knew we had to bring tubes into the mix.
We engineered the TS P75 to create this expansive, layered soundstage when paired with most amplifiers. For many listeners, the TS P75 will be their first taste of a true multi-layered soundstage, a feature that’s typically the exclusive domain of much pricier preamps.
Now, here’s something to consider: if you pair the TS A75 with a run-of-the-mill preamp, you’ll find the soundstage shrinks—like watching a blockbuster movie on your phone. But match it with the TS P75, and the TS A75 will reveal its full sonic potential.
That said, if your current preamp or DAC is already top-notch, you might not notice a dramatic improvement in soundstage width. But if your preamp hasn’t yet reached the level of the TS A75, prepare to be wowed—the difference with the TS P75 is nothing short of massive.

Exotic Capacitors for Maximum Fidelity

Crack open the TS P75 and the first thing you’ll see is a veritable “cap forest”—capacitors everywhere! At Galion, we’re not here to pinch pennies; we’re here to chase audio nirvana.

What sets us apart? Instead of settling for run-of-the-mill, budget-friendly capacitors, we rolled up our sleeves and splurged on premium parts from Clarity, Solen, and Jupiter Audio. Honestly, you’d be hard-pressed to find another company willing to mix three exotic capacitor types at this price point—most would call it downright crazy!

But this “crazy” approach pays off: the TS P75 delivers performance that rivals preamps costing way more. So, while others might be counting their profits, we’re busy counting the capacitors—and the smiles on our customers’ faces.

Impedance Matching

You don’t often come across a preamp packed with this many capacitors—but trust us, there’s method to the madness. This unique design brings real benefits.

The TS P75 acts as a true bridge between your DAC and amplifier, smoothing out any impedance mismatches and ensuring your audio signal travels as cleanly as possible. Take the TS A75, for instance: paired with the TS P75, its bass tightens up, shedding bloat and gaining clarity. This lets subtle lower-midrange details emerge that you might not have noticed before.

Now, some listeners might miss the extra “fun” and punch of the TS A75’s slightly exaggerated bass. But from a high-end perspective, the combination of the TS P75 and TS A75 delivers a more balanced and refined sound—one that lets every note shine just as it should.

Adding Body to the Midrange

One of the standout advantages of using tubes in a preamp is their ability to infuse the midrange with a touch of warmth. With the TS P75, we deliberately tuned the preamp to enrich the midrange, prioritizing a sense of body and richness over strict neutrality.

This voicing choice makes your listening sessions more enjoyable and immersive—plus, the added smoothness helps prevent listening fatigue, so you can enjoy your music for hours on end. When paired with the TS A75, the TS P75 further enhances the midrange, giving it more substance and presence.

While it doesn’t push the vocals forward in the mix, it does create a more intimate feel—almost as if the singer is standing just a little closer to you, making every performance all the more captivating.

High Resolution

Another hallmark of high-end audio is exceptional resolution. A truly great tube preamp should deliver remarkable clarity and detail, but without tipping into a cold, clinical sound. That’s why the power supply is absolutely crucial.

With our sights set on rivaling top-tier preamps, we didn’t settle for generic off-the-shelf transformers. Instead, we commissioned custom-made toroidal transformers, engineered specifically for the TS P75. This ensures not only superior performance but also a listening experience that’s as refined as it is engaging.

Quality Components

One of the joys of collaborating with Doge Audio is their unwavering commitment to top-tier quality. Every single component in the TS P75 is selected with care—no compromises.

For instance, the preamp features a genuine Japanese Alps potentiometer for precise, reliable control. Even the internal wiring is handpicked to ensure the highest standards of performance and longevity. It’s this attention to detail that sets the TS P75 apart.

Carefully voiced

One of the secrets behind the TS P75’s remarkable performance is the countless hours we devoted to voicing and refining the preamp. We built and tested numerous prototypes, experimented with a wide range of components, and tweaked settings relentlessly—refusing to settle until we were truly proud of the results.

To ensure the TS P75 met our high standards, we invited multiple test groups to evaluate its sound. Only after receiving confident feedback and feeling completely satisfied with its performance did we move forward with production. With the TS P75, you’re getting a preamp that’s been fine-tuned for countless hours.

    Wonderful in so may ways.

Ive had the freya+ for about 3 years with Ray tube selects and XLR connections..

This P75 is SO NICE, better than the frayer+ in every way,
BLACK background, concise separation, larger than the room imaging, everlasting sparkly highs, punchy grunty lows and textured layered mids, this is after about 200 hours with the stock tubes.

    Thank you Thomas.

An acrylic or glass top would have made this a center show piece.

An amazing pairing with the A75. Beautiful clarity and detail, amazing bass. Just awesome!

Tha Galion P75 is still a significant jump from my modded Freya+. My initial impression was holy sh*t! The bass! Just unleashed a lot more bass I didn’t even know my speakers had in them. Greater dynamics, an even darker background. Beautifully smooth detail without the occasional shrill highs I was experiencing. Thomas really nailed the balance of getting as much detail without being fatiguing on the high end. Just a solid addition to the A75 amp. I can’t wait to tube roll and get even more performance out of this thing, but it’s just fantastic out of the gates.

I use upgraded power cables on both devices. Using Pangea 14 and Pangea 9 cables.

Instruments and Vocals Have Way More Depth and Subtlety

I have had the TS P75 preamp for about a week. The sound of my system has improved substantially. A lot more of the songs go from decent to great. I noticed the most change though in the subtle details such as the decaying sound of a cymbal sounding more real. The same goes for drums, piano, or the sound of a guitar pick sliding along a string. I went back to my old setup and picked Bob Dylan's Sarah. The new setup with the TS P75 sounds more real.

My current higher end DAC has a built in analog preamp that I have heard cannot be removed. I discovered that contrary to what is usually recommended, the sound quality went up substantially if I increased the preamp volume and decreased the volume to listening levels in the software. I am moving to a class D amp with 10 times the power and realized that my volume adjustments would become more extreme. I have also heard that tube pre-amps are typically best for class D amps.

So, I took the chance with the TS P75. I turned up the preamp in my DAC to the volume that is supposed to eliminate the gain and act as much like a strait wire as I could obtain; I was worried that that built-in preamp still in the signal path it would destroy the benefits of the TS P75. I turned the software volume up to 100%. Now, I have great sound and I can control the volume just with my remote; the sound is much better than what I could accomplish with the volume tweaks. The remote is also heavy and machined out a solid piece of aluminum, so it can serve a secondary role as a personal protection device.
