    What took so long?!

This is my first huge step into HiFi audio. I am so pleased I started right here, with Galion and its founder, Mr. Tan. In wanting to have an idea what to write about, I have put approximately 50 hours on this amp. With knowing the amp has a break-in period of 300 hours, it’s hard to imagine better sound coming from the unit! The soundstage is huge, gigantic, full, rich, and a few other adjectives I can think of. This is a retirement gift to myself and I’m pleased as punch with it.

I had a friend over for a listen session. Halfway through a Quiex pressing of Brothers In Arms, my friend looked at me and asked where all the sound was coming from. Actually, he almost yelled it, the TS120SE is loud! I was perplexed, an adult man asking such a thing. I pointed at the speakers in disbelief and smiled because he was truly asking how a wall of sound could come from 2 speakers. He had never heard a wide soundstage with instruments separated in such a way.

Carl Orf’s Carmina Burana/ O Fortuna has never sounded so great, strings and vocals, are just fantastic from the TS120SE, the bass thumps quite well and is never bloated! Metallica on Megaforce label sounds excellent and the label is a known weak pressing. Yes, classical, classic rock, metal, punk, and even Taylor Swift are played here. Lol. Gershwin,to Genesis, Mozart or Metallica, BeeGees and Beethoven, they all sound so darn good through this amp. My record collection is extensive and full of minty 1st pressings along with MoFi, Quiex, Classic Records, and other audiophile pressings and the TS120SE squeezes all the sound out of them. I’m glad Thomas has created the TS120SE to allow me to enjoy this collection to its fullest extent.

To say I’m a satisfied customer is very understated!
That brings be to my title question, what the heck took so long…..to create something sooooo good, for such an affordable price.

    Thank you, Thomas!

THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY HAPPINESS

I am really at a loss for words to describe how happy and pleased I am with my Galion TS120 SE tube amp. I am one that feels you have to actually listen to amps, speakers or other hifi equipment before you spend you hard earned money on any equipment. Based on talking and emailing with Thomas and watching and reading a lot of reviews on the amp I bit the bullit and ordered one. I must say the first surprise was when the rather large wooden box showed up on my porch. Best packing job I have ever seen. The second surprise was how easy and uncomplicated the amp set up was. After only 30 minutes the music was singing in my room and I was in awe. The clarity and soundstage were awesome and has only gotten better over time. The TS120 SE drives my Klipsch Forte IV’s, Dynaudio Special 40’s and my vintage ESS speakers with ease. I have learned over the several months of listening to the amp that my preference is class A mode with no tone controls on. Class AB is good but gonna stick with class A. The amp is a keeper and it will never leave my listening room. Thomas I must also tell you that you and your customer service are awesome. I don’t know many companies where I can pick up the phone and call the owner and have a long conversation with and that is greatly appreciated. By the way I also love my Galion speaker cables. Thomas thanks for putting the hard work and time to produce such an awesome tube amp.

    Galion TS 120 LE

My home office system started out with humble beginnings just wanting some back ground noise to fill in the day,…Over the past couple years all has evolved and now with the very recent addition of the TS 120 LE the jump in sonic performance turned shocking good , it went Way Beyond my expectations . You have been warned If Thomas offers a home audition be prepared putting in an order …..Absolutely fabulous work voicing this brilliant amplifier Thomas ,,.

    Love this piece

My search for a tube amp took a while. I happened upon Thomas’s YouTube page during the search and quickly became a fan of his. When he introduced his tube amp, I was immediately impressed because it offered a lot of features I desire. I have the original TS 120 version with upgraded Gold Lion tubes from a famous place out West. The original tubes are very solid, I probably watch too many influencers…..hence my desire to “tube roll”. Once things were burned in (be patient as this can take a while) the unit became so unique and rich sounding. It’s hard to describe the sound but once you hear it, you cannot forget it. Recently, my 80 year old father was in town for the Holidays. We listened to a lot of music, both vinyl and streaming. I inherited his entire collection of LPs last year when I retired from a lengthy military career I have painstakingly cleaned them all so them sound their best. He was awestruck by the sound of this amp. He said that he didn’t know music could sound so realistic and pure! We switched to two other amps, an Accuphase and Marantz Reference Series amp. He looked at me after some listening sessions and said, I like that tube amp much better. It’s open, airy and “just sounds great”. Needless to say, we spun a lot of his old vinyl records from the 50’s to the early 90’s and he was in heaven the whole week.
I cannot recommend this amp more, it continues to amaze me. I prefer class A mode with T. With older pressings, the tone controls are fantastic. I have large, Klipsch Chorus speakers (all updated with Crites boards, new woofers and tweeters) and run dual subs. Horns and tubes……primo combo. Thanks Thomas for a fantastic first amp!
